Geology Field Trip Projects: Home

This guide will assist you in researching your Field Trip Project in Suki Smaglik's online courses.

Welcome

This Library Research Guide (LibGuide) will direct you to some helpful resources in completing your Field Trip Project in Suki Smaglik's class. Remember that you will need to prepare for your field trip by first researching your study area. For instance,

  • Are there any geologic maps of your trip area?
  • What are the rock types, ages, and formation names?
  • What is the geologic history of your study area? Geologic hazards? Any mountain-building events ("orogenies")? Periods of volcanic activity? Sedimentary deposition? Fossils? Etc.

The more you know about your field trip area before you go, the more you will get out of your trip.
