Interlibrary Loan

  • Books, articles, and other materials that are not available in our library collection can often be obtained from other libraries by submitting an online request form through the library catalog.
  • You will be notified as soon as your materials arrive.
  • Although most items arrive within a week, it may take two or three weeks if an item is difficult to find or shipped from out of state. Therefore, requests should be made well in advance of the date materials are needed.
  • For further information on the interlibrary loan process, please contact the Information Desk at (307)-778-1206 or

Call Numbers

The Ludden Library uses the Library of Congress system for numbering items on the shelf.  It still uses a decimal, but unlike the Dewey system that is common in public libraries, it uses a combination of numbers and letters to identify each book.  Thus, this book:

Dinosaur in a Haystack by Stephen Jay Gould

might have the call number
508 GOU
in a public library,

but have this call number
QH45.5 .G683 1995
here at LCCC.

If you ever have questions about finding a book in our library, please come ask us for assistance.
