Instructions

The reference sources on the right offer biographical and background information on artists, art terms, tools, techniques, and art history. Note that some are available in print in the Reference section of the library (see the call numbers), some are available as eBooks, and some are in both formats. Call the library Information Desk (778-1206) if you have any questions or problems accessing these sources.

General Art Reference Sources

Dictionary of Art (Grove - 34 vols) REF N31 .G758 2002

This large multi-volume set is the place to go when you need comprehensive coverage of an artist, country, movement, art period, technique, form or theme.
