Nursing Testing

TEAS Entrance Exam

Students who want to enroll in the first semester of the nursing program must successfully pass the TEAS test as part of the program application process. 

Please note:

  • There are a limited number of seats for each testing date and time.  An appointment must be made in advance.  Email the Exam Lab or call 307-778-1274 to make an appointment.

  • Nonrefundable fee of $65 to test. This fee must be paid on the the day of testing at the Exam Lab.  Cash, check or credit card accepted.

  • Timed three and a half-hour test. (170 questions)

  • Overall score and reading score must meet or exceed the national mean on the same test.

  • A passing score is valid for 3 years.

  • Students can take no more than two tests in a 12-month period. (For example: a student tests on Jan 3, 2022. The student can retest one time before Jan 3, 2023). There is a three week waiting period between tests. If the student is unsuccessful on the second attempt, there is a one-year waiting period from the date of the last test taken.

PN Predictor

Students who are licensed as an LPN or have completed two consecutive semesters of nursing school and who want to enroll in the third or fourth semester of the nursing program must successfully pass the PN Predictor test. This test is like taking a mini LPN NCLEX. View more information on the nursing program advanced placement option.

  • Timed three-hour test. (180 questions)

  • Must meet or exceed the national mean score of 69.1 on the test.

  • Passing score is valid for one year.

  • Students can take no more than two tests in a 12-month period. (For example: a student tests on Jan 3, 2022. The student can retest one time before Jan 3, 2023).

TEAS Exam Details

  • Overall score must meet or exceed national mean.
  • Currently must score a 65.6 Overall AND 72.4 on Reading (on the same test)
  • Computerized with immediate scoring.
  • 4 subject areas: Reading, Math, Science, and English
  • Timer at top of screen.
  • Answers left blank will be counted incorrect, so make a guess.
  • Scratch paper and pencil provided. Calculator on screen

  • Reading: Reading comprehension. Multi paragraph passages, charts, maps, labels, measuring tools, and directions. 
  • Math: Algebra, data interpretation, numbers (adding, subtracting, multiplication, division), measurement (metric, dimensions, weight and volume).
  • Science: Human anatomy & physiology (circulatory, nervous, digestive, respiratory, and immune systems), life & physical science, scientific reasoning.
  • English: Grammar, sentence structure, punctuation, spelling, and contextual words.

AIT Testing

TEAS and PN Predictor exams are conducted using ATI Testing.  Students who intend to take one of these tests must create a profile in ATI in order to test.  They will also find practice tests at this website.  This profile will be used extensively in the Nursing Program.
