Testing Center: LCCC Exam Guidelines

Student Guidelines

The following guidelines will help you understand what to expect during testing. Test takers are expected to adhere to LCCC’s Student Code of Conduct. Any activity that raises a concern with the proctor will be reported to the instructor along with any evidence.

Scheduling/Check-In Guidelines:

  • Exams are scheduled using the Testing Center link in Canvas, though walk-ins are welcome.
  • Students check-in using a QR code posted on the wall and proctor counter.
  • A valid photo ID (driver's license or student ID) is required to take the exam. Testing Center personnel will not administer an exam to a tester without a photo ID and course/exam information.
  • Test takers need to provide their instructor’s name, course name/number, and exam name.
  • Cell phones and other unapproved electronic devices must be turned off and stored in a locker. Personal items such as hats, coats, and bags are stored in a locker. Calculators and other approved materials will be checked before use. No food/drink unless approved for accommodations.
  • Only testers and authorized guests are permitted in the Testing Center.
  • Testers may be subject to a security wand before testing.

During the Exam:

  • Test takers are observed and recorded throughout the exam by various methods. Exam proctors may walk through the Testing Center, observe computer activity, and monitor through video surveillance.
  • Students remain in the Testing Center for the duration of their exam except for authorized breaks. Leaving the lab during the exam may result in termination of the exam.
  • Exams will not start unless the instructor's allotted time is available. For instance, a two-hour exam must begin at least 2 hours before closing.
  • The Testing Center provides ear plugs or headphones.

Check-Out Guidelines:

  • Exams and testing materials are collected at closing time or end of the testing period regardless of completion.
  • Students check-out using the QR code posted on the wall or proctor counter.

Office of Student Accommodation

The Testing Center is pleased to offer testing accommodations in accordance with Office of Student Accommodations (OSA).  All testing accommodations must first go through OSA before they are accommodated through the Testing Center.

If you have questions about accommodations, please contact OSA in Pathfinder room 207 or by calling 307-778-1359.

Instructor Guidelines

The Testing Center asks that instructors understand the following guidelines:

  • Testing is offered only for online, hybrid, and testing accommodations. Exams will not be administered for entire in-person classes
  • Instructors submit test requests through RegisterBlast in Canvas. We request submission 48 hours in advance to allow for student booking time, and three business days prior for printing requests. If you cannot accommodate these timelines, please contact us directly.
  • Instructors are encouraged to provide a roster of testers via RegisterBlast.
  • Instructors will set the exam time limits when submitting requests in RegisterBlast.  Allotted test time should not include accommodations as that will be added for a specific student.  Students will not be allowed to start an exam if the allotted time exceeds remaining open hours.  For example, a two hour exam must begin at least two hours before closing.
  • A minimum 48-hour testing window is recommended for students to schedule and complete exams.
  • Direct students to the Testing Center link in Canvas to schedule exams.
  • Any testing irregularities or academic integrity issues will be reported to the instructor.
  • Instructors or their proxies may collect completed exams from the Testing Center during or after the testing window.
