Holds may be placed on most materials currently in circulation. If the item is on the shelf, it will be pulled from the collection and held up at the circulation desk for the patron to come and pick up. Patrons who live outside the Cheyenne area will have items mailed to them. If the item requested is already checked out, it will be placed on hold for the requestor once the material has been returned. Patrons will be notified at the email or phone number on file once the item is available for pick-up. Items not picked up after 1 week may be returned to the shelf and made available for other patrons to check out. Reserve materials are not eligible to be placed on Hold.
How to place a hold:
Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a service provided to LCCC students and employees and also available to community members on a limited basis. Community card holders are allowed to have up to 15 active requests in the system at any one time. ILL’s are checked out for the loan period assigned by the lending library. ILL’s may be renewed by contacting the library circulation desk, however renewal is not guaranteed. The lending library will be contacted and renewals will be granted according to the home library’s policies. Be aware that not all items will be eligible for ILL. Items that normally don't circulate (such as Reference Books) or have limited circulation (New Books) are often restricted for ILL, depending on the home library's policies.
