The library has a limited number of laptops that are available for checkout. There are two kinds of library laptops:
All laptops checkouts require current LCCC ID in addition to a valid government issued ID. An ID will be kept at the front desk for the duration of the in-library use checkouts. For 3-day checkouts, copies will be made of both IDs and kept on file with the laptop contract for the duration of the checkout. IDs will not be retained "on file" for patrons after the laptop is returned.
Users must complete and sign the LCCC Property Checkout Agreement and the LCCC Ludden Library Eagle Laptop Borrowers Agreement and agree to abide by all laptop checkout policies in order to obtain a 3-day laptop checkout.
Laptops that are not returned on time (per the borrowing and checkout agreements above), are subject to a $50/day overdue fee and and a hold will be placed on the users library account and student registration until the amount owed is paid.
If the equipment is deemed to be lost or damaged, the borrower may be billed for the cost of the equipment, up to $2300, plus a $20 processing fee.
If the equipment is not returned and attempts to contact the borrower are unsuccesful, the user may be reported to campus security and local law enforcement.
