Tips for ePosters

Federation University Tips

The templates above were set up using advice from Federation University. Here are some additional important tips from them.

Font Size

Use 28pt font size for your body text and a bigger size for headings. Going smaller than 28pt font size risks text not displaying well on a large monitor.

Colors

Make sure your poster has good color contrast and use just a few colors on it to keep it professional looking. You can check your color contrast for accessibility by going to the Review tab in PowerPoint and choosing Check Accessibility. Check to see if PowerPoint catches any Color and Contrast errors. Black text on a white background has very good contrast.

Images/Graphs

Your ePoster is large, so you need to make sure that you use high-quality. high-resolution images on it. If an image looks blurry, it is not high enough quality for your ePoster. A good way to check your image quality, is to look at your ePoster on a display monitor.

Saving as a PDF

If you want to save your ePoster as a PDF, here are directions on how to do that. Go to FIle. Select Save As and choose .PDF as your file type from the drop down menu. Don't save your PowerPoint as a PDF until you completely finish editing it as you cannot further edit a PDF document.
