Concurrent Enrollment Library Guide: Home

Information for instructors teaching LCCC concurrent enrollment classes

Welcome!

Congratulations! You've made it to the library, or at least our webpage, but what now?

You want your students to do quality research for their course assignments.  After all, this is supposed to be a college level class, right?  The problem is that when faced with the prospect of library research, many students' first hurdle is figuring out where to start when there are so many resources at their disposal.  It seems easier and faster to just go to Google and use the first three sites that come up (which usually means Wikipedia), but what can students do if their instructor has said that they can't just use Google or Wikipedia for all their research?  Tell them not to panic!  We are here to help

Resources

Resources available to all students and faculty of LCCC, whether they attend classes on campus or at another location, include:

  • Librarians - we have four faculty librarians available to work with instructors on designing assignments that teach students how to use quality research and to work with your students on how to find the resources they need to successfully complete those assignments.   We can even come to your classroom for library instruction, or do a session for your class here at our library.  Contact us at 307-778-1206 or libref@lccc.wy.edu.

  • Books and videos - books and videos are available for checkout with any valid WYLD library card, including ones from any Wyoming public library, or an LCCC student ID. We can even send them to your local library for pickup through our Interlibrary Loan service.

  • Online resources - LCCC not only has access to GoWYLD databases, but we have dozens of additional ones that are not available at most of the public or high school libraries in the state.  Current students and faculty can access them from any internet connection with the LCCC username and password.  Please call the library's Information Desk at 307-778-1206 to get login information.

The tabs on this guide contain information to help you get started taking advantage of all that we have to offer.  If you have questions that aren't answered here, please contact our User Services Librarian, Paula Badgett, at 307-778-1378 or pbadgett@lccc.wy.edu.
