Information literacy forms the basis of lifelong learning. It is common to all disciplines, to all learning environments, and to all levels of education. It enables learners to master content and extend their investigations, become self-directed, and to assume greater control over their own learning.

The library faculty is committed to working with departmental faculty to develop the skills inherent in information literacy and a librarian would be happy to schedule an instruction session either in your classroom or in the library.
Information literacy is the ability to:
from a variety of sources and in a variety of contexts.
With sufficient lead time, library faculty can work with you on instruction, presentations and written materials geared specifically to your course and assignment, as well as general orientations for more inexperienced students.
You can view samples of course and assignment-specific research guides, called LibGuides, by visiting this page.
Please visit our Meet the Librarians page to find the library liaison for your subject area to schedule instruction sessions. Our contact information is listed below our pictures on that page.
The Ludden Library staff has access to videos and tutorials on information literacy topics. If you would like to integrate videos or tutorials on topics such as citation, information evaluation, database searching, source types, paraphrasing/summarizing/quoting appropriately, etc. into your Canvas course shells, please reach out to your subject librarian for more information.
Faculty and staff may reserve the library's instruction room or conference room for meetings and events.
The instruction room has 10 computer stations for students.
To book these areas, contact the help desk at 307.778.1206 or email Linda Herget at lherget@lccc.wy.edu
We will respond to questions sent outside library hours within 24 hours after opening.
