The Farsight Transmitter is a long-range wireless monitoring system designed for remote control and live preview with the Insta360 Pro 2 camera. It allows for high-definition monitoring over distances up to 300 feet. It is highly recommended you use the Farsight Transmitter for all VR filming.
Setting Up the Farsight Transmitter
Download Companion Application: Available on iOS, Android, Mac, and Windows, start by downloading the Insta360 Camera Control App.
You will need the serial number of your camera to download the application.

Charge Transmitter and Receiver: Both the transmitter and receiver include internal batteries, it is a best practice to charge all equipment before your shoot.
The transmitter and receiver can alternatively be powered using the provided USB cables.
Turn Off Wi-Fi: Power on camera. Go to Wi-Fi settings and turn WiFi off. You should see a line through the WiFi icon.
Enable DHCP Connection Mode: Go to camera settings and set Ethernet mode to DHCP.
Attach Antennas: Attach antennas to both the receiver and transmitter.
Note one antenna is different from the rest.
Attach the Transmitter to Tripod and Camera: Attach the Farsight Transmitter to the tripod and then connect it to the Insta360 Pro II using a LAN cable.
Connect the Receiver to Your Viewing Device: Attach the Farsight Receiver to your mobile device, tablet, or computer using the provided LAN cable(s).
You may need to use the custom LAN cables provided to attach the receiver to some tablets and or mobile devices.
Power on Transmitter & Receiver: Power on both the transmitter and receiver. When the blue lights stop flashing.
If the connection was successful, you should now see an IP address displaying on the camera as follows: 192.168.100.XXX
Open the Insta360 Control App: On your viewing device (connected to the receiver), open the Insta360 Camera Control app. Enter the exact IP address shown on the screen of the camera and select ‘connect’.
If you are unable to establish a connection with the camera, check the WiFi/Ethernet settings on your device to ensure your control device and the receiver are communicating.
